Good evening, beautiful people.
We did it! Thanks to ya’ll, I hit over 100 subscribers to my humble newsletter and I hope to see it grow even more. I promised I would share a Locked Tomb piece I’ve never posted publicly and I’m a person of my word:
I drew this piece back in September to celebrate the release of Nona the Ninth. I never posted it online (outside of Patreon) however. Why? Because I knew it wouldn’t perform well and it’d distort my perception of a piece I both had fun making and enjoyed the outcome of. This is in fact a redraw of a two year old piece:
I feel a sense of awe when I see just how much I’ve progressed in two years. Suddenly I see proof of all that hard work and I just didn’t want socmed to taint that. Hope you like it! (Also did anyone here read the Locked Tomb series and even more so, read Nona yet? Spoiler free thoughts?) Another thought that hit me is how I’ve been a fan of this series for two years now, and how much has happened in my personal life since I first picked up Gideon on a whim after reading some fantastic summaries. (Lesbian space nuns with swords, for example. A favorite.)
Speaking of social media, that’s a rather depressing notion in most of my mutuals lives these days. And my own. Admittedly it feels bleak and I’m not holding my breath for twitter to come out on top after these last couple of weeks. But who knows. In the meantime I’ll lay low, work hard as always and polish my writing skills. While I pen this post, I see all my peers desperately put together tumblrs, instagrams and so on. It’s hard not feeling a hive-mind panic. Therefor I’ll try to make this letter mostly positive!
This coming Wednesday, God of War: Ragnarok is released! Yesterday I started a new file of God of War(2018) and it’s all streamed over at my twitch. Initially I played that game on launch and what an impression it made on me. As someone who grew up with the old God of War games, playing them as a teenager, it’s true magic to be able to “grow up” with Kratos. Despite having played it once already, it still makes me tear up all the time. I’ve even made the cutest Dad of War shark:
I really hope you’ll join me on Wednesday as the end of days break loose on my stream! What better way to enjoy a game set in Norse mythology than watching a Norwegian play, eh? And if you, like me, need a refresher of the previous game, I got that covered too *wink*.
Before I wrap up this first little blog, I’d like to kindly remind you all I have a Patreon where you can support what I do and see much more art. Some of that will be shared here with you all as well, so fear not!
I also wanted to ask: Do you have a preference over how often you’d enjoy a post like this? Once a month? Bi-weekly? Don’t hesitate to let me know in the comments! : D
And thanks for the patience as I stumble and find my footing in this new terrain. Somehow I never participated in the whole LiveJournal epoch back in the early 00’s, and so I never honed the greatest writing skills.
To round up, here’s some close ups:

I've discovered the locked tomb serie quite recently and I absolutely love it.
In fact, I hyper-focused so hard on Harrow that I fear reading Nona for the moment, as I don't have the luxury to only think about it ^^
But I freaking love it, and your art is absolutely beautiful
I discovered your work on Mastodon, found you on Twitter and now I'm fascinated to see that more artists than I thought were on Substack! Eager to see how this develops since I've always thought newsletters were a great way to show off new work and projects while I've also heard the valid criticism that it's very one-way without the ability to comment.
As for the Locked Tomb (love your piece!), I haven't read Nona yet, though it's on my list! I enjoyed the first two books more than I thought I would (more of a fantasy gal myself), but the Gideon cover was so irresistable that I had to pick it up.
